Job Description
+ Developing a viable, sustainable, strong and externally fund-able research program involving graduate and undergraduate students.
+ Primary disciplinary needs are in the area of financial accounting.
+ Teaching assignments are at both the undergraduate and graduate levels in traditional and accelerated formats.
+ Must be actively engaged in scholarly activities as evidenced by i.) conducting high-quality research resulting in presentation of professional papers and publication in peer-reviewed journals, ii.) stay research active per 2013 AACSB standards for a \"scholarly academic\"
+ Must address the needs of a student population of great diversity - in age, cultural background, ethnicity, primary language and academic preparation - through course materials, teaching strategies, and mentorship.
+ Improve the CPA passing rate for accounting majors.
+ Develop and sustain collegial and productive relationships with on- and off- campus constituencies, including alumni, business professionals, including regional and national accounting firms, and funding sources.
+ Teach at the undergraduate and/or graduate level in an area(s) to be determined by the candidate's interest and experience and the needs of the Department.
+ Commitment to the highest standards in higher education in business education, diversity and equal opportunity.
+ Candidate should have a Ph.D. in Accounting from an AACSB-accredited institution or a terminal degree in a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution or university. ?
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
+ Candidate must demonstrate a record of prior teaching excellence at the university level.
+ Candidate must demonstrate an ability to work in a collegial atmosphere as part of a team.
+ Candidate must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
+ Candidate must have awareness of and sensitivity to educational goals of a multicultural population as might have been gained in cross-cultural study, training, teaching, and other comparable experience.
+ Candidate must have professional experience with CPA liscensure.
