The College of Science and Engineering invites applications for a non-tenure track Professional Assistant Professor of Chemistry in the Department of Physical and Environmental Sciences. The successful candidate is expected to teach undergraduate and possibly Master s level courses and laboratories. The Department of Physical and Environmental Sciences (PENS) of Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi is an interdisciplinary department that offers undergraduate degrees in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Geology, Atmospheric Science, and Physics. We also offer a PhD in Coastal and Marine System Sciences, and master s degrees in Environmental Science, Coastal and Marine System Science and will soon be offering a master s degree in Chemistry. With the physical sciences as our core, we seek to bridge academics and research through interdisciplinary collaboration that exists both in the classroom and in the field. We seek for our students at every level to grasp the real-life applicability of their research and its wide-spread impacts on environment and sustainability. QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. at the time of hire in Chemistry or a closely related field with at least 18 hours of graduate level chemistry courses. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Preferred qualifications include at least 4 years of teaching Organic and General Chemistry classes with experience coordinating Organic Chemistry labs.
